Sandra Boger

August 1, 1948 ~ June 7, 2021 (age 72)

Obituary

Sandra Boger is finally where she wants to be. In Heaven with her beloved son Keith. Nana, as she was known to everyone, was born on August 1, 1948 and passed away June 7, 2021. She was 72 years old. She is predeceased by her son Keith, June, 16, 1991, and her husband of 48 years, Edward Boger, September 10, 2017.

Nana loved her babies. She is survived by six children, 24 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. There was hardly a time when there wasn’t a baby in her arms. It didn’t matter if it was one of her grandkids or not, if a baby was crying Nana would comfort them.

Nana always welcomed us home, even if we showed up at 3 am, she would give us a hug and start making hot cocoa and it didn’t matter how many people we had with us. She wanted to know all about what we were up to. People never went hungry around her, she always had a meal prepared, waiting to be shared. She made the best sweet rolls.

Nana loved her family for sure but her true love was Teddy Bear, her sweet little Yorkshire Terrier. Nana was forever chasing after that dog. She never caught up to him but he’d always come home after his run. She would carry him around all day like a football so he couldn’t run off.

She was mischievous when she was younger; she put laxatives in the cookies she baked knowing her brothers would steal them. She loved Elvis and Patsy Cline, spy novels, and writing poetry and short stories. Nana always had a good story. She would pull out a bag of costume jewelry and tell the grandkids how each piece was from her grandmother. There were some pretty tall tales, and the grandkids enjoyed every minute.

Nana’s whole life was all about service. She chose to be a nurse and after she had kids she was constantly doing things for one of them, from ironing creases into Levi's or driving two hours to pick one of us kids up. We will all remember Nana as a very caring person. She always puts others first. She could sense when people needed help, there were numerous times when she was completely prepared to help before she was even asked. She was very strong, she handled more than her share of tragedy and hardship in her life. She taught us to be kind, and strong and to have faith that all things happen for a reason.

Nana was our greatest support, she will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at the Henrieville ward house on Wednesday June 16th. A private family gathering at Noon, A public viewing at 1:00pm followed by graveside services at 2:00.
