Jeremiah Christensen
March 30, 1976-  January 21,2020
Jeremiah (Jeremy or Jim) was born March 30, 1976 in Mt Pleasant, Utah to Mitchell and Kathleen Christensen.  He was the youngest of 5 children.  He grew up in Moroni, Utah, which he always proudly proclaimed was “the marrow of the world”.  He loved Sanpete County.  As a youth, he played baseball, football, drove his 4-wheeler around the hills,  and loved being with family and friends.  His older siblings included him in all they did.  His oldest sister even took him once when she was going out on a date.  He had many especially fond memories of deer camp with his dad, brothers, grandfather, uncles, and cousins.
He faithfully served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to Charleston, West Virginia from 1995-1997. He had a firm testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ,  and the Plan of Salvation.
After his mission, while living in Albuquerque with his sister, Kathy, he met Allison Pixton at the LDS singles ward.  After Allison stuffed Jim during a basketball game, he knew they were meant to be.  They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti, Utah temple on August 5, 2000.  He was the proud father of 5 living children, and 1 who preceded him in death.  His kids were everything to him.  They were his solace.  He was the best father and loved to play with them.  He was a wonderful companion to Allison.  His calm demeanor, quick wit,  and insights into human nature will be dearly missed by her. He was the beloved center of his home.
Jim was always a kind, loving, accepting person.   He was serving as bishop of the Taylorsville 15th ward at the time of his passing.  He had also served in many other capacities, most notably with the youth in his LDS community.  He formed many relationships over the years with those youth that he cherished. He was a gentle giant among all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
His favorite hobby was outdoor cooking.  For every birthday, Christmas and Father’s Day, he would request some new outdoor cooking tool, grill, smoker etc.  He volunteered to smoke meat or use one of his grills for every family dinner, ward party or friend request.  Jim loved to serve others.
Professionally, he worked the last 12+ years for AT&T wireless and Cricket Wireless.  He enjoyed the relationships he formed with his co-workers.
Jim died suddenly January 21, 2020,  at home of a ruptured berry aneurysm. He was preceded in death by a stillborn son, Finley,  who now gets to spend time with his dad.  He is survived by his beautiful wife, Allison,  and their children Brooks, Eva, Hazel, Caroline and Winnie.  He is also survived by the following: his beloved parents,  Mitchell and Kathleen Christensen, father-in-law Robert Pixton, brother Eric (LaDonna) Christensen, sister Tamra (Tony) Sanchez, brother Michael (Debbie) Christensen, sister Kathy (Adam) Pehrson as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and in-laws of his extended family.
