Cheryl Haws

February 10, 1956 — August 27, 2020

This memorial was created in memory of our loved one, Cheryl Haws, 64 years old, born on February 10, 1956 and passed away on August 27, 2020.  We will remember her forever.  Anyone who knew Cheryl was privileged to know a kind, caring individual who loved children and the Utah Jazz.  Missing a Jazz game was almost unheard of! She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Haws, her siblings Tom, Robert, Vickie Hawkins, Roy Sibert and was predeceased by her mother, Rose Oliver and sister, Ina Jellins.  Cheryl and Jimmie were happily married for 40 years.  She graduated from South High School in 1974. Cheryl earned a Recreational Therapist degree from Bryman College.  Cheryl’s adopted parents are Jim and Marina Martin along with their son, Jimmy Martin.  Cheryl cherished and loved all her nieces and nephews.  Her nieces and nephews also cherished their special friendship and love with Cheryl.  She had countless adopted kids, Mikel Bohannan (wife Regina), Bobbi Jo Shell (husband Joshua) and Shelle Bridges (husband Jake) who will always remember Cheryl.  Cheryl shared a special relationship and devotion to all children.  It was her special pleasure and life’s devotion to teach and enjoy all children.  Their mutual pleasure and recognition were reciprocated long after the kids grew up and had their own children.  During Cheryl’s illness she received many thoughtful, gracious thanks and prayers from these children, now adults. Thank you all.  We will remember her love, compassion and sunny outlook.  She always had a smile on her face.  She always wanted to give and give. Graveside services will be September 5, 2020 at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E 4580 S, Millcreek, UT 84117. A brief 15-minute viewing will be held at 11:00 AM.  Masks and social distancing required.
