Arlene Ashby

August 1, 1936 — April 17, 2020

Arlene Ashby was reunited with her eternal companion after 25 years on April 17th, 2020.  Arlene was born August 1st, 1936 in Union, Utah to Ervin F. Jeppson and LaRue B. Burgon. She stayed locally in Utah and graduated from Jordan High School. The most important day of her life was June 16th, 1954 when she married her eternal companion James Roy Ashby in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had 8 children and mom’s greatest joy and accomplishment was her family. Arlene loved music and led many choirs. She served faithfully in the Jordan River Temple for many years, as well as in many other church callings. Arlene had a strong testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and shared that by example in the way she lived her life. A family graveside service will be held on April 20th, 2020 at Larkin Sunset Gardens. Proceeded in death by her husband James Roy, her son Layne (Cindy), her parents and numerous siblings. Survived by her sisters Dana Lindsey, Jane Astle, Susanne Burke, and Delores Poulton. Also survived by her children James (Dawn), RaChell (Hal) Jensen, Lynette (Russell) Jenkins, Suzette (Rick) Holt, Klint (Tricia), Heather (Eric) Johnson, Calee (Darren) Bulloch, 30 grandchildren, and 51 great-grandchildren. Thank you to our friends at the Sheridan in South Jordan for 2 years of wonderful care, as well as the loving staff at Suncrest Hospice especially Ashley and Rachelle.
