Sherman Kealoha Roquiero, loving husband, unconditionally dedicated father, grandfather and brother died May 2, 2017 at the age of 73. He was surrounded by his Ohana. His beloved wife and eternal companion, Kathleen (Witt) Roquiero. His cherished children Micah Roquiero, his wife Rhochelle (Maluyo) of West Jordan, Joel Roquiero, his soulmate Erin Wilde of West Jordan, Jonathan Roquiero, his wife Aislinn (Draper) of West Jordan, Matthew Roquiero of Bennett, CO. and Sarah DeTore (Roquiero) and her husband Christopher of Everett,MA. His precious grandchildren Jozette, Noah, Jacob, Elijah, Asah and Isabella. He leaves behind his siblings Fred Rokero (Harriet), Charles Rokero (Wanda), and Dawnette Sheldon (Dana) and many many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by loving parents, Alfred B. Roquiero and Eleanor Kaleimoku Ferriera. Adoring siblings, Eleanor "Honeygirl" Rokero, Darnelle Sabey, and Derek Ferriera. Sherman grew up on the island of Oahu, was the grandson of Filipino immigrants, and served with the US Coast Guard. He attended Brigham Young University and worked in the field of social work holding program manager positions for both the refugee and heat assistance programs for the state of Utah. Sherman enjoyed helping people in need. He always had a " big heart" and was willing to help anyone. He will be greatly missed, and his family and friends have been blessed to have him in their lives.
Funeral services at LDS Taylorsville 10th Ward Stake Center at 4950 South 1950 W. on Monday, May 8, viewing at 10am followed by funeral at 11am. Services will conclude with burial at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memory park, Bluffdale. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers charitable contributions be made to the Sherman Roquiero Memorial Donation account at Mountain America Credit Union. Donations can be made in person or by phone (801-270-0570). Charity to be determined by the family. Mahalo for all the kind words and prayers. The family would also like to send a special thank you to the hospice staff at The Lodge by Valeo.
