Shauna Steffen, age 61, of South Jordan, Utah passed away on July 5, 2026 at home, surrounded by her family after battling cancer for nearly a decade. Born on September 9,1964, Shauna lived a life of service and integrity. Life moved her to many places, but she grew up in Arizona and considered it home, until later in life when she would embrace cold but beautiful Montana. Shauna graduated from Mesa High School, and then began her career with FedEx. She worked at FedEx for years before leaving so she could spend more time with her family. Later, as a records custodian for the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office, Shauna was always in the know about the happenings in town and loved helping the community. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Shauna had great faith and looked forward to a reunion with her loved ones.
Shauna lived a life of service. While this showed in her jobs and church callings, it was most apparent in her home. She worked a full time job but was always serving her family. She spent countless hours helping with homework, running her kids to activities, and making sure everything ran smoothly. As more of an introvert, Shauna enjoyed spending time at home with a good book, watching reruns of Friends or Criminal Minds, and could often be found talking on the phone with her siblings. She valued her family relationships and made an effort to be involved in their lives, whether near or far.
Over the years, Shauna traveled throughout the US, and once to Thailand to visit her mother who was serving a mission. As an extremely cautious person, this was well outside of her comfort zone, but she loved the experience and opportunity to support her mom. Every summer she made her annual trip to Arizona where she would visit family, enjoy the sunshine, eat the best Mexican food, and sip a good Coke. She enjoyed the finer things, but loved when she could find a good deal. She was always on the lookout for a cute outfit she could buy for her kids or grandkids.
Shauna faced many hardships throughout her life, but always handled them with grace and integrity. She was honest to a fault. She had friendships that stood the test of sickness and frustration, and she was so grateful for those that were there for her as life continued to test her. She fought a hard battle with Multiple Myeloma for years. She was so grateful to have lived long enough to know her grandkids and Mitchell grandkids, who she loved more than anything. No one held a candle to the grandchildren she loved so much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Steffen and Janet Merrill (Robert), as well as her brother Brent Steffen and sister Suzanne Steffen. She is survived in death by her former spouse (Lon) and their two children, Shelby Anderson and Bradford (Emma) Anderson, as well as her grandchildren, Easton Anderson and Hallie Anderson.
