She attended Leififi school and went on to Teachers Training College. Upon finishing Teachers Training College, she became a teacher, and, she was a darn good one at it, and stayed as a teacher in the Samoan public schools for over 27 years of her life.
Her family (husband and children) moved to Utah in 1975 and lived in Rosepark until her husband passed away in 2007. Serafi moved to live with her oldest daughter, Selena Saofaiga Hunt, and it was there that her dream and wish to return to her homeland of Samoa, was fulfilled. She moved to Vaitola, Samoa in 2018 where she was able, and became an avid traveler, going back and forth to Utah to visit children and grandchildren. Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 8:15 a.m. (Samoan time), she passed peacefully in her home in Vaitola, Samoa with her oldest daughter, Selena Saofaiga Hunt, by her side.
