Roger Howey III, died September 12, 2023, in Cottonwood, AZ. He died unexpectedly, from undetermined natural causes. He was 80 years old.
Roger was born July 5, 1943, in Bell, CA. He enlisted in the United States Marines in 1961, where he maned long range artillery and was honorably discharged in 1967.
Roger was a loving and caring father and enjoyed the outdoors with his family of five with Irene, Aaron, Ryan, and Audra. We would camp in tents in the back yard and go fishing in local rivers and lakes. We would camp at spots in Ogden Canyon. We visited the Bonneville Raceway many times where my uncle and grandfather would race sometimes and we would see funny cars, dragsters, rocket cars and the Jolly Rancher wheelie truck. Many times we had family reunions in Eagles Lodge each year. We had many vacations together like Disneyland, Knots Berry Farm, and Yellowstone. He had a lot of fun at the concert of the band Garbage. He spent a lot time traveling the country in his RV with his third wife Lyn. We would sometimes meet up and similar locations to camp together like a time I remember at Bear Lake.
Roger is survived by his sons Aaron, Ryan and Roger Howey IV. His brother Scott Howey and sisters Barbara Shelton and Gale Wilkinson. There are several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members that will miss him dearly. Funeral services will be held at the Memorial Lakeview Cemetery at 11:00am on September 28, 2023.
