Richard Eugene Todd

Richard Eugene Todd passed away at the age of 72 after a short illness at the George E Whalen VA hospital.

Richard was born on -7/17/1950 to Lily Sifia Todd and Charles Cheshire in Ogden, Utah. Richard was the apple of his mother’s eye.

Richard grew up in Ogden the youngest of five children. He graduated from Roy High School and quickly joined the Army. Richard valiantly fought for three years in the Vietnam War. Upon returning home from the war, he married Sharen Guffey – later divorced- and adopted her son Shayne. Together they had one son Richard Leeroy Todd (Rick). Richard then met and married the love of his life Sherri Lynn. Together they had three children – Joseph, Shamron and Forrest.

Richard retired from Discover Card Services where he faithfully worked for 15.5 years as a Senior Account Manager.

Richard enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved traveling with his loving wife. He particularly loved going on cruises. Together with his wife they saw much of the world. He also loved watching westerns and old sitcoms. Some of his favorite things were German Chocolate cake. Asking for one every year for his birthday. Fireworks, and a life-long love of Elvis. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He often celebrated the end of each day with an ice-cold beer or two.

Richard is survived by his wife Sherri, sons – Shayne Todd, Rick (Jennifer) Todd, Forrest (Cassandra) Todd. Daughter Shamron (Brandon) Dickerson. Grandchildren Skyler, Isaiah, Koda, Jaden, Alexia, Aniyah, Galaxy and Cayden.

Family would like to thank the many nurses and doctors at the VA hospital who loving cared for Richard during the last weeks of life.

A celebration of life will be held July 23rd, 2023, from 4 to 6pm at Murray Park 296 E Park Ave, Murray Utah 84107.
