Noreen Mae Woelfle Wilson, 93, passed away on October 7, 2025, in Ogden, Utah. A grandmother to all, friends and family alike remember her as Grandma Nonie. She was a deeply cherished grandmother, mother, and friend.

Noreen was born in Detroit, Michigan, on January 24, 1932, and adopted by John Woelfle and Bertha Rose Von Hoven in 1933. A true San Franciscan, she grew up on what is now Haight and Ashbury.

As a young teen during World War II, Noreen’s first job was as a candy striper at a hospital. Later in life, she was a dedicated employee of Greyhound and later Caltrans. She raised her three sons in San Francisco, as a single mother. All three grew up to serve their country and became veterans.

Grandma Nonie loved sharing her city with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She relocated to Utah to be closer to her son, Danny’s, family in 1996.

Noreen was fiercely loyal to her family, even going on camping trips and vacations well into her later years to spend time with them. She also had a passion for genealogy, wanting to learn as much about her ancestors as her descendants.

She loved printing photos of her children and grandchildren, framing them around her home and filling albums with memories. Family members often came to visit for good conversation and to help Grandma Nonie complete puzzles on her kitchen counter. She always had a puzzle in progress, with another one ready to go when it was finished.

Noreen is survived by her son, Danny Wilson (Karen), and was preceded in death by her sons David Wilson and Daryl Wilson and her sister F. Marlene Spaulding. She is also survived by her grandchildren Cathrina Caldwell (Mike), Kimberly Trauntvein (Shawn), Danny Jr. Wilson, Keturah Wilson (Angie), Marie Wilson, and Tyson Wilson. Noreen had 15 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
