Nancy Louise Marsh Catmull

April 28, 1942 — August 23, 2025

On the afternoon of Saturday, August 23, 2025, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Nancy Louise Catmull, concluded her earthly journey, leaving behind a deep and irreplaceable void.

Nancy was born on April 28, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to her loving & devoted parents, Benjamin Josiah Marsh and Marion Louise (Hanni) Marsh. She was the younger of two children and shared a lifelong bond with her older brother, Gary Benjamin Marsh, whom she deeply admired and loved.

She spent her formative years in the Rose Park neighborhood of Salt Lake City, where she was surrounded by a close-knit community and forged friendships that would last a lifetime. After graduating from West High School in June 1960, she and her cherished group of 7 friends made a heartfelt promise to gather monthly—a tradition they lovingly called “club.” Remarkably, this circle of friendship has endured for over 68 years, a testament to the deep bonds she helped nurture. She was married March 25th, 1960 & later sealed in the Salt Lake City temple in 1961. Though her marriage ended in 1983, the years that followed were a testament to her strength and devotion as a mother.

Nancy was the proud and selfless mother of three sons—Todd, Brett, and Chad. Her life revolved around them, and she poured her heart & soul into ensuring their happiness, well-being, and growth. Her love was unwavering, her sacrifices quiet but immeasurable, and her devotion unquestionable.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nancy served in many callings, particularly treasuring her time in the Primary. Her love for children and their innocent joy brought her much happiness and countless cherished memories. Her ward in Taylorsville, the 8th Ward, held a special place in her heart.

Nancy primarily dedicated her life to raising her family, but after her divorce, she found a second home at Harmon’s Grocery in the main office. Over her remarkable 35-year career as an administrative assistant, she developed lasting friendships and a deep affection for the Harmon family. We are grateful to them for the respect, care, professionalism & support they extended to her over the many years.

She had a whimsical and unique love for giraffes—amassing a delightful and varied collection—and was captivated by hummingbirds, always hoping they would grace her yard year-round. Let’s just say, it didn’t matter what type of dog, she always had a soft spot for all dogs. These gentle, graceful creatures reflected her own spirit: quiet, colorful, and one-of-a-kind. We imagine her now among them—running (probably not keeping up…..) pain free with giraffes and surrounded by the flutter of hummingbirds in a place of peace.

Nancy is joyfully reunited with her parents, Benjamin and Marion Marsh, her nephew John, her great-granddaughter, Savanna, who passed before birth. She is survived by her cherished brother, Gary (Bev); her three sons, Todd (Lori), Brett (Ronda), and Chad (Angie); her treasured niece Kimberlee & nephews Curtis, Troy, Quinn & John who unfortunately passed at birth; and her beloved 9 grandchildren: Christi, Colby, Brandon, Whitney, Cameron, Brooks, Cami, Jake and Taylor. Then comes her precious jewels, 22 great-grandchildren: Kortney, Gabe, Oaklee, Jace, Chloe, Mckenzie, Brynlee, Jaxon, Carlee, Brock, Weston, Paisley, Jordan, Savanna, Conner, Emree, Bodee, Olivia, Belle, Charlotte, Houston & Walker.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal funeral or viewing. She requested a simple graveside service attended by her family, reflecting the essence of who she was: humble, grounded, and content with life’s simple joys. If you knew Nancy, you would understand this choice perfectly.

We love you, Mom. Until we meet again, may you rest in the peace you so richly deserve. We look forward to the day when we’ll hold your hand once more and feel that long-awaited motherly embrace
