Mark Richard Danner

Mark Richard Danner returned to his Heavenly Home on July 9,

2016 from complications with congestive heart failure.

Mark was born March 22, 1953 to Warren Arnold Danner and Phyllis Elizabeth Brooks Danner.

His parents were professional roller skaters, so Mark was involved in the family business from a very early age. Not so much as a skater, but jobs that needed to be done. Which gave him the ability to learn how things worked.

Mark was a very kind and helpful child, his mother remarked that more than once, she was told what an asset he was in assisting others and being there to help out the underdog.

Mark played many sports in school, football was his favorite. He injured his ankle in high school which lead to complications later in his life.

Mark served in the Army for 4 years and when he was discharged, traveled across the country where he met Debra Pratt. They married in the Salt Lake Temple on July 6, 1982. They immediately left for Germany, where he served another 4 years which also gave them the opportunity to travel around countries like Germany, Switzerland, and Australia where they went on a “Sound of Music” tour which he remembered fondly.

On March 13, 1987 Mark and Debra welcomed their very premature son, Eric into their lives. Mark always treasured his son who was the light of his life. Mark sacrificed a lot for his family, and didn't  regret any of  it. When Eric was about 8, Eric wanted someone to do balloons at his birthday. Finances were stretched, so Mark went to the library and self-taught himself to twist balloons. He enjoyed it so much, it became a part of the rest of his life.

Mark had many other talents as well, he loved working with leather, creating many beautiful gifts for others. He was also very gifted on the computer and would create many gifts and cards for others.

Mark always had a dream to participate in the Olympics, so when Utah had the 2002 Olympics, he volunteered and was able to participate in many venues. He loved dancing in the closing ceremonies.

In 2011, unfortunately Mark and Debra divorced, but always did what they could for the benefit of Eric. Mark met and married Georgenia Whitehead on April 26, 2012. He became an instant grandfather of 6 at that time. Two more grandchildren have been added since then.

He shared his love of balloons with his wife, Georgenia and his bonus daughter, Georgette. Georgette’s daughter Emmalee also loves to twist balloons, so his love of balloons is his legacy he leaves behind.

Mark was a very social person and was able to work for Parc assisting people with disabilities to acquire employment. He loved camping and was an avid fisherman. He shared many of his talents and abilities with others.

Mark worked for the USGS for 19 years where he was medically retired when he needed a 5 way by pass surgery.

Mark was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served in many callings faithfully. Mark loved life and loved his family.

Mark is survived by his mother Phyllis Danner, his wife Georgenia, his son Eric bonus children Aaron, Georgette, Johanna, and Chelsea.

8 bonus grandchildren, and countless neices, nephewes, and other friends and relatives. His father Warren and bonus daughter Sara preceded him in death.

Mark you will be missed. You are loved.
