MARILYN EYRE, 57
Marilyn Eyre, 57, passed peacefully Monday, May 22nd, 2017, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born July 1, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Myrth Davis. She attended Granger High School and Ricks College. Served a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Curitiba Brazil and following married Darrell Allen Eyre in 1983.
Marilyn was diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) in the beginning of 2013. Even though this disease has no treatment or cure with a life expectancy of 5-10 years, Marilyn maintained an optimistic outlook and brightness of hope. She never complained and accepted the challenges with courage and faith. She continued to love and serve her Family and friends and be involved in their lives despite her declining physical condition right up until the end of her days.
During her High School years Marilyn moved in to the Home of Karl and Viola Thurber along with their 9 children. After her Mission she danced into the arms of Darrell Eyre. They fell in love and were married in August of 1983 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in the Taylorsville City area. They raised four amazing children and are blessed with 3 beautiful grandchildren…(so far)
Filled with compassion and interest in others, Marilyn made friends easily and maintained contact with almost everyone she ever met or knew. Before her illness, she was very active and enjoyed walking with her friends, dancing, roller blading, arts and crafts, scrap booking, singing and playing games. She loved all people unconditionally. She truly had an indomitable spirit of kindness. She made everyone feel loved in her presence. She was a warrior of love.
Marilyn cared deeply for everyone she knew. Whether you were her family, friend or a member of the community or neighborhood she loved you. She was always willing to help someone in need. As she was confined to bed, she continued to share her love and correspond with friends and family in her beautiful and distinctive way through email, texts and cards.
She lived her life in the most positive way. She saw the good in everything and encouraged others to do the same. Her actions and the incredible example that she showed her children, grandchildren and friends, are behaviors that should be emulated by all of us. She was a true role model.
Marilyn was a person filled with light. Everyone knew her. Everyone loved her. She was an institution of non-judgmental love. She was a generous, loving, supportive and unselfish woman who always put others before herself. She was charitable, giving, considerate and always kind.
We will miss her with all our hearts and will always cherish the times we spent together. She was always there when we needed her and was the most loving and caring wife, daughter-in-law, mother and grandmother. She never wanted people to go out of their way for her. Yet, she did it all the time for others.
She has touched the lives of so many people and even though she is gone, her memory will live on in our hearts forever. Her spirit has not left us. Everyone who was ever touched by her in his or her lifetime should have faith that she will be watching over them because that is just the kind of person she was. She has left reminders of herself everywhere.
Marilyn was a remarkable woman and we doubt she ever realized how many people she has had an impact on in her lifetime. Cherish the memories you have of her and honor her memory by doing good to others. This is how she lived her life and there is no better way of honoring her than by following her charitable example. Her love for all of us, all of you, is what is going to pull us all through. All the many, many people who’s lives have been touched by her should take comfort in knowing that right now, she is standing at the gates of heaven, welcomed by a legacy of love and kindness that will live on through the eternities.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell, and her four children: Kelsea, Megan, Mason and Karli. Her parents, Mryth Davis Evans, (Coy Evans,) Viola Thurber , Jeran Bingham and (Linda Bingham), Sisters Debbie Okleberry, Tina Bruehl (Cory Bruehl) and Lisa Preece (Shaun Preece) also survive her are dozens and dozens of fond nieces and nephews.
