November 3, 1927 – December 8, 2018
LaRoy H. Anderson born in Aurora, Utah, to Armilda and Harold Anderson, November 3, 1927, reunited with his sweetheart, Dona, December 8, 2018. Our father, grandfather, and friend faithfully completed 91 years of hard work, sacrifice, and love.
He went to school in Redmond and Salina, and worked in the construction, coal and salt mines there. He served in the US Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Married the love of his life, Dona January 2, 1951, and was later sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served 8 years as Counselor in the bishopric, as well as many other callings in the Cannon First Ward.
He had a truck line job and then Lockheed Aircraft in California. He worked in the Salt Lake City School District for over 32 years in the custodial department. He and Dona took trips all over the nation and loved treasure hunting at the Deseret Industries. He loved spending time in the outdoors hunting, fishing, and gardening. He enjoyed woodworking and created many gifts for his grandchildren. In short, his only hobby was his family.
Although being the first born, he was the last one left of all his parents, siblings, and beloved. He is survived by son Denny (Sharon), daughter Lynne (Blaine), son Brent (Leisa), son Brad (Kayleen), son Robin (Darla), son Larry (Cheryl), daughter-in-law Kim, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, their dog Peanut and a wild cat that adopted and loved them which they named Shirley.
