Karla spent her early years in Lynndyl, Springville, Black Rock, and Faust, Utah, before moving to Tooele in 1963. Her father worked for the railroad which accounted for her living in railroad houses along the way. Karla finished her education in the Tooele County School system with the class of 1966.
Karla was working at Albertsons in the bakery center when she met her husband, Fred Lowry. They were married January 14, 1967, in Tooele. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. Karla was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served as Primary secretary, Relief Society secretary, Primary teacher, and Relief Society visiting teacher.
Karla ran a daycare out her home for almost 10 years. After that, she worked as a reading aide at Harris Elementary. She loved camping with her family where she would be with the grandkids playing in the streams and sitting around the campfire telling stories and playing games.
She is survived by her husband, Fred, and her three sons: Terry Richard (Rock Springs, WY); Kevin Neil (Shala Hardison - Tooele); and Brian Fred (Robyn Davis {deceased} - South Weber). She was grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings: William David (Phyllis / Layton), Vesta Marie Jacobs (Tooele), and Lorna Goodspeed (Syracuse). She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law, Robyn Davis, and a granddaughter, Melissa Dawn Lowry.
