Karl Hans Scheese (Jan 9, 2001 – Jan 16, 2021) passed away unexpectedly. He was the 4th child born to Richard Allen Scheese Jr. and Carolyn Hawkins Scheese. Karl graduated from Woods Cross High School (WXHS) and was most recently enrolled in the Apprentice Electrician Program at DATC. He had goals of building and renovating homes and becoming an electrician.
Karl had a wonderful sense of humor and was a kind, gentle, happy soul who loved animals and was considerate of all people. He loved to serve and was always willing to donate his time and energy for others. Karl enjoyed hiking, running, mountain biking, competitive shooting, and being outdoors.
He was patriotic, loved his country, and earned his Eagle Scout award. His Eagle project involved retiring 250+ American flags; enlisting the help of veterans, military, police, and community members.
Karl excelled academically taking AP classes in calculus, psychology, and physics. He was awarded both academic and music scholarships. Karl loved music and played several instruments including violin, piano, ukulele, and bass trombone. He distinguished himself as a member of the Jazz Band at Woods Cross High School and played in the All-State Orchestra. He loved physical activities and was on the wrestling, cross-country, and track teams. He took 4th place in wrestling in the Utah State Championship in the 7th-9th grade division.
Karl completed a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wichita, Kansas. He spoke fondly of the people he served on his mission, his companions, members, and those with whom he associated. He loved serving the Lord and had a strong testimony of his Savior and the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
Survived by his mother and father, brothers Benjamin (Rachel), Spencer (Libbie – fiancé), and Stephen (Caylee), nieces (Adelaide & Danielle), Grandma Pat Scheese, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

There will be a viewing Thursday, January 21st from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 22nd, at 11:00 am with a viewing from 10:00 – 10:45 am. Physical attendance at the funeral will be limited to family members. Viewing and funeral services will be held at the Woods Cross 6th Ward building; 790 W. 1500 S. Woods Cross, UT.
