John Rascon passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. While our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing he is reunited with his beloved wife and the love of his life, Patricia Rascon, who preceded him in death as well as his Mother Jennie Rascon.
John leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his four daughters: April (Marcus) Armijo, Troilyn Rascon, Tricia Rascon, and Kim Rascon. He was a devoted father and a proud grandfather who loved his daughters and grandchildren unconditionally. His family was his greatest joy, and the love he shared with them will continue to live on for generations.
John was a man of many passions and talents. An avid golfer, he enjoyed spending time on the course and took great pride in maintaining an active lifestyle. He could always be found at the gym early in the morning, often beginning his day by 6 a.m. He also enjoyed his trips to Wendover and fishing with Mom in East Canyon, in his younger years, excelled in the sport of boxing, displaying the determination and discipline that would define his life.
Beyond his strength and accomplishments, John had a gentle heart. He taught his family valuable lessons about love, compassion, and vulnerability. One lesson that will never be forgotten was his belief that showing emotion was not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength. He often reminded us that it is okay to cry and that expressing love and emotion is something to be embraced.
John was known for his quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and playful sarcasm. He loved telling jokes and always had the perfect comeback ready. His smile could light up a room, and his presence brought warmth and laughter wherever he went.
Throughout his life, John gained wisdom through experience and was always willing to share it with those he loved. His advice was sincere, thoughtful, and grounded in a life well lived. Anyone who took the time to listen quickly realized that his words carried meaning and truth.
John’s life was a testament to love, resilience, strength, and family. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely will remain in our hearts forever.
Until we meet again, Dad and Gramps, thank you for the laughter, the wisdom, the love, and the countless memories. Your legacy lives on in all of us.
