Jeffrey L Jorgensen

Jeffrey L. Jorgensen, our favorite mischief maker, community builder, and animal lover, had recently chosen hospice following a progressive cancer diagnosis. He was settling into his room at Sunrise Senior Living and making fast friends with this wonderful community.

Jeff slipped away suddenly, quietly, and without pain while sharing a meal and a beverage with a newly made friend. Jeff’s unassuming departure was gentle, serene, and undramatic—much like the life he lived.

Jeffrey will be greatly missed and remembered for his love of hard work, connections with people, cars, dogs, and cats. He loved a good joke, loved to tease, and loved to sing to you over the phone for your birthday.

In Jeff’s younger years, he was a swim champion, snow and water skier, master mechanic, and the proud owner and operator of U.S.Towing, assisting his nieces and countless other friends and family in car emergencies. Even when he was unable to work due to Parkinson's and other conditions that made his life difficult and painful, Jeff volunteered, feeding the homeless, cleaning up the park, and rescuing animals.

Jeffrey is preceded in death by his mother, Janis; his father, David; his brother David; his sisters Jennifer and Julie; and his beloved dogs, Budweiser, Boomer, Buddy and Bear.

He is survived by his siblings Karen, Kirstie, and Ziggy. His nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly, will carry with them the playful nicknames he had for each. He will be remembered as a stoic, jovial and unwavering optimist.

A celebration of his life will be held at his St, Marks Millcreek Senior Apartments: 418 East Front Ave, South Salt Lake, 84115 on September 24th at 2:00 p.m
