Janice Fae Porter Stones

Passed away on August 18, 2016 due to complications from Alzheimer's. Jan was born on February 24, 1942 in Great Falls, Montana to Ila and Ray Porter. Jan graduated from Shelley High School in Idaho and Rick's College- School of Nursing. She worked at Idaho Falls LDS Hospital where she delivered many Vietnam war babies- including her nephew. She also worked at LDS hospital in Salt Lake City where she met her FBI sweetheart. On January 22, 1965, Jan married Arthur George Stones in the Salt Lake LDS temple. She worked at Lakeview Hospital and Life Care Center in Bountiful. Mom was a talented seamstress, artist, gardener, vocalist and the best mom and grandma ever. She served faithfully as the Relief Society President, Primary President, Primary Teacher and Visiting Teacher. Mom lived a full life and left us with many wonderful memories. Jan is survived by her daughter Nichole R Bishop (Troy), son Guy M Stones (Jill), daughter Cassie A Newcomer (Randy) and son Matthew C Stones (Kelly). Grandchildren- Terrin Bishop, Ian (Kat), Mitchial, Samuel, Timothy and Isabella Stones, Jessie, Brayden and Rylee Newcomer, Caleb, Kayden, Elizabeth and Mason Stones. Brothers- Steve (Janice) Porter, Den (LaNae) Porter and Gary (Debbie) Porter. A viewing will be held Friday, August 19, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Bountiful South Stake Center (1250 S Main St. Bountiful ). Funeral services will be Saturday August 20, 2016 at 2:00 pm with a viewing at 1:00 pm. Internment at Lakeview Memorial Estates (1640 E Lakeview Dr Bountiful). We would like to thank all the doctors and care center staff that cared for mom this past year.
