Ila Hall Nelson
January 31, 1923 – October 10, 2018
Ila Hall Nelson, 95, of Taylorsville, Utah passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. Ila was born on January 31, 1923 in Garland, Utah to Heber Dean Hall and Edna King Hall. Married to Vern J. Nelson October 14, 1940 later solemnized in the Logan Utah temple.
Ila was a gifted seamstress and made many quilts, crocheted and tatted doilies, crafted leather goods and canned hundreds of jars of fruit and vegetables produce from her lovely garden
She held most positions in her many wards including working in Primary, Scouting, Young Women and particularly loved the Relief Society and being a visiting teacher and being a Gospel Doctrine teacher. She was a great friend and always thought of others first.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vern, an infant son Mark, and a son Neil and daughter-in-law Margo Johnson Nelson and a sons-in-law, Ronald Campbell and Ned A. Offrett, and grandson Porter J. Nelson and twin great-grandsons, Joseph and Hyrum Nelson.
She is survived by her sons, Lyle J. (Judy), Allan H. and daughter Rita Offrett and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be held at 7:00 PM, Friday, October 19, 2018 at the chapel on 1495 Tamarack Road, Taylorsville, UT. Family and friends are invited to a viewing at the same chapel on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Interment to be at the Emmett, Idaho cemetery on Saturday October 20, 2018
