Hazel Beck

April 11, 1933 — June 26, 2021

Hazel Lawana Beck passed away peacefully, surround by loved ones, in the Truewood by Merrill Canyon Creek assisted living center on June 26, 2021.

She was born on April 11, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harold Dale Beck and Ora Teresa Fernley.  She spent her early years growing up in Salt Lake City. After she graduated South High School in Salt Lake City she lived for a while, first in Arlington, Virginia and later in Berkley, California.

After several years of being single she met and married David W. Beebe in 1964.  After some years they divorced.  In 1972 she married William M. Noll.  They were also divorced.

She worked for GMAC for 25 years and made many friends and enjoyed that job.  Following her retirement from GMAC she worked for Wasatch Memorial Estate until her final retirement.

Hazel was a member of the Salt Lake Symphonic Choir for 27 years.  While part of that group she enjoyed many friendships, happy moments, and had many good times.

She loved sewing and helped some of her nieces with prom and wedding dresses.  She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, ceramics, reading, and was happiest when she could serve and give to others.  She served in many callings within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which she loved and was particularly involved in temple work including indexing many names. She also worked in the family preparedness programs.  Perhaps one of the greatest gifts she gave to her fellowman was her efforts with the infirmed.  She would go and visit and minister to those who could not do for themselves.  She understood what it meant to be charitable. She shared all the talents she was blessed with to serve others.

She is proceeded in death by Dale Harold Beck, her father, Ora Teresa Beck, her mother, Dale F. Beck, a brother, Harold G. Russell, brother in law,  Claudia Iris Burton, a sister in law and many other beloved relatives, including nieces and nephews.  All whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her sister Afton Lucille (Jill) Russell and many nieces and nephews, great - nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held July 2, 2021 for Hazel. Friends and family are welcome to attend at the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints from 10:30 am to 11:15am, after which a short funeral service will be held beginning at 11:30. These services will be located at 1457 W. Atherton Dr., Taylorsville, Utah.  After which she will be interned at the Salt Lake City, Cemetery.

The family would like to express thanks to all from the Canyon View Assisted Living Center and Suncrest hospice groups who ministered to her in the past several weeks.
