Glenn Nelson Moon Jr. was born on May 23rd, 1945 in Paul, Idaho to Glenn Nelson Moon Sr. and Mary Alice King. He passed away on July 21st, 2016 at the age of 71, in Murray, Utah. Nelson was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, served his two year mission in Calgary, Alberta, and was ordained a high priest in the Melchizedek Priesthood. He took great pride in his service as a United States Marine and was an avid car enthusiast and gun collector. He made the best Saturday pancakes, rode the wildest rides at Lagoon, and called his children home at night with the loudest whistle in the neighborhood. He was the man you would call to fix something when it was broken, to comfort you when you were hurting, or to bail you out when you were in trouble. Nelson will be remembered fondly for his kind heart, his patient demeanor, and his sly humor. He is missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas Moon and David Moon; his daughters, Hilary Diamond and Marci Moon; his sisters, LaPriel Watson and Judith Weaver; his brother, David Moon; and his five grandchildren. He loved his nieces and nephews, several of whom loved him like a father. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
There will be a visitation at 1495 West Tamarack Road, Taylorsville, Utah 84123 on Thursday, July 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held in the same location on Friday, July 29th from 11:00am to noon. Friends may call one hour prior to funeral services. Interment will be at, Valley View Memorial Park 4335 4100 S, West Valley City.
