1952 Georgi 2025

Georgenia Watters Danner

July 15, 1952 — August 17, 2025

West Jordan

This beautiful soul entered this world on July 15, 1952 to George Howard Watters and Donna Pendleton, in Cedar City, Iron County, Utah. Georgi would often clarify that she was born in Parowan, Utah but the hospital was located in Cedar City. Georgi was the fourth of five daughters in a family of all girls.

Georgi lived in Parowan, Utah until the age of 4 when her family relocated to California, ultimately settling in Hawthorne, California where she lived until she married.

She married Edward Stochlia in 1974 and together they welcomed Sara and Aaron. Ed and Georgi later divorced and Georgi married Donald Whitehead in 1978 where Georgette, Johanna, and Chelsea joined the family. Georgi and Donald were married until 2011 when life took them separate directions. Georgi met Mark Danner through an online dating site for older singles and they hit it off, later marrying in 2012.

Mark taught Georgi the art of balloon animals, and Georgi took to it instantly creating elaborate balloon creations including working with a team to create a life size car and individually creating life size people out of balloons. Before Mark passed away in 2016, he made the comment that he didn’t expect to see his love of making balloon animals and creating smiles would last beyond his lifetime. Georgi would often tell people that she was still proving him wrong.

Georgi spent years doing balloon animals at farmer’s markets, festivals, and private events. Sometimes

she would even carry around a fanny pack full of balloons and a small balloon pump so that she would be able to create a smile at a moment's notice. Her love of balloon art is carried on by her children and grandchildren.

Before balloon animals became a big part of her life, Georgi enjoyed sharing her creativity as a Cosmetologist for nearly 20 years. She loved socializing with clients while helping them to create their ideal look with a good hair cut or a fresh new color. Georgi made fast friends wherever she went and put people at ease with her wit, smile, and laughter.

Georgi always had a dream to travel across the country in an RV and her son Aaron was able to help her fulfill that dream. They spent several years living in RV’s side by side in campsites all across the country. She loved seeing the historical sights of the country as well as riding in and driving a side by side through dusty hills and mountainsides with her faithful companion, her dog O.J., riding beside her.

When Georgi’s health no longer allowed her to travel, her sister Donetta invited her to live with her. A blessing for both of them. It was an opportunity to watch out for each other and get to know each other better. An opportunity that they both expressed gratitude for in recent weeks.

As Georgi became unable to express her creativity in some ways due to her health she always found another hobby to fill in the gaps, ultimately creating beautiful flowers out of pipe cleaners and gifting them to people that would come to visit her. She loved to make people smile.

Georgi lived a life full of adventure, difficulty and love. She was a brave and independent daughter of God, she knew her Savior, Jesus Christ. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served many callings throughout her life. Her family is her greatest gift, and her most favorite opportunity was being a mother and grandmother. Sometimes those roles also proved to bring some of her greatest challenges and opportunities for growth as she cared for her daughter Sara who was born with multiple physical and mental disabilities. She supported and loved Sara and her other children to the best of her abilities as they went through various life challenges. She was a fierce protector of her children and grandchildren. Until her last breath, Georgi spread joy to others.

Georgi was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Danner (2012-2016) her daughter, Sara Elisabeth, parents George Howard Watters and Donna Pendleton, and sister Judith (Judy) Watters Stillman.

She is survived by her son, Aaron (Amber) Stochlia and her daughters, Georgette (Murray) Harrild, Johanna Lynn Whitehead, and Chelsea Alexandra Whitehead, her sisters, Janet Kraker, Donetta Patterson, and Beverly Young, As well as Her eight amazing grandchildren: Evan, Madeline, Gabriel, Andrew, Emmalee, Natalie, Jacob, and Mia. Her special four-footed family includes “OJ” and “Hunter” who have blessed her life, along with all the wonderful balloon animals created by her gifted and talented hands.

She wanted to give a special thank you to Donetta, one of her sisters, for inviting her into her home, helping and sharing precious time during the last transition of her life.

Another special thank you to the Jordan Oaks 4th Ward “I’ve never felt more loved and more like family by this Ward, as though I mattered.”

She would also like to express gratitude to Solstice Home Health and Hospice for the services provided.

The last message to the world, “The greatest experience in my life was and has been serving others.”

My greatest advice in this world: “Be Nice.”

Her children would also like to thank Cynthia Paul for her gracious gift and cooperation as we have made preparations for Mom's final resting place. Thank you!
