Dr Paul D. Kimball

With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved parents Dr. Paul D. Kimball and Virginia Lynn Kimball, who left this world just two days apart. Paul left us on Sunday, May 25, 2025 and Virginia on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. After 65 years of marriage, they fulfilled their shared wish to depart this life together, in the comfort of their home, surrounded by the love of their family.

Paul was a man of incredible intelligence, wit, and spirituality. He was a lifelong learner, having earned three doctorate degrees. He became a skilled Chiropractor and helped his patients improve their quality of life. He also loved to solve problems with creativity and resourcefulness. He was a proud Korean War veteran who loved his country. He was a builder — of ideas, of homes, of memories — and a joyful storyteller who lit up rooms with his humor and heart. He believed there was nothing you couldn’t figure out if you worked hard enough, and he instilled that spirit in each of his children whom he loved deeply.

Virginia was the heart of the Kimball home. She was a true artist whose hands were rarely still. She painted, sketched, embroidered, sewed, crocheted, and danced, just to name a few talents. She taught art to many students, both old and young, and she created beauty wherever she went. Her creativity was matched only by her compassion. All of her children’s friends were welcomed and felt loved in their home. Her greatest masterpiece was the life and love she nurtured within her family. She cherished her role as mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Even amidst the profound loss of her three boys, she still filled their home with joy, imagination, and the warmth of treasured traditions.

Paul and Virginia’s love story was one of loyalty, humor, resilience, and purpose. In life, they were inseparable. In death, they are reunited. Paul and Virginia were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on March 18, 1960. Together they raised a large and close-knit family of fourteen children, rooted in faith, curiosity, laughter, and service. Paul and Virginia’s love for the Savior shaped their lives, and they found joy in studying and sharing the gospel with all they met, especially while serving in the Draper Utah Temple for many years where they enjoyed close friendships. Their legacy is reflected in the lives of their surviving children, Bekie Thompson, Clover (Pat) Autrey, Heather (Kerry) Weiss, Kimberly (John) Howell, Jennifer (Todd) Witzel, Melodee (Chad) Curtis, Crystal (Nathaniel) Ash, Chalese Turnbow, Alysha (Ryan) Witzel, Stephanie Watts, Joshua (Kelly) Kimball, grandchildren (34) and great grandchildren (5). Preceded in death by Paul and Virginia’s parents, grandparents and children Brett Kimball, Joseph Kimball, Kevin Kimball and grandchildren Cameron Autrey and Chase Autrey.

The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff at Active Home Health who provided tireless care and love to our parents. We would also like to express our gratitude to all our friends and family who have provided so much love and support throughout this challenging time.

A viewing will be held for Paul and Virginia on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 9:00AM-10:30AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ meetinghouse located at 10945 South 1700 East, Sandy, UT 84092. A funeral service for both will follow at 11:00AM. The couple will be interred at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in Millcreek Utah.

We will miss them more than words can express, but we are grateful for the gift of having been loved so well by them. Until we meet again, Mom and Papa — thank you. We love you.
