Douglas Scott Hymas

1965-2017

Our loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend Doug Hymas, West Valley City, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017.  He was born on December 28, 1965 in Twin Falls, Idaho and married ReNae Witbeck on December 29, 1989 in the Salt Lake Temple.  He was a dedicated father of three girls.

He served an LDS mission in Vancouver, Canada and was a faithful member of the LDS church. He had a deep testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.  Though he had many different callings in the church, the most important thing to him was to help others through service.  He worked for 27 years for UPS as a driver, with customers who loved him and his great customer service.  He loved to be outdoors, camping, hiking, biking and going to parks of all kinds.  He loved collecting model John Deere trackers and could tell you all about them.  He had a great sense of humor and could make a joke out of almost anything.  He was happiest hosting parties in his backyard that included BBQs with lots of meat and a fire in the fire pit.  He loved cooking for a crowd and any event where he could have a spatula in his hand.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Delcie Hymas.  He is survived by his wife, ReNae Hymas and three daughters Haley, Whitney, and Makenzie as well as his father Doyle Hymas (Pam) and sisters Vicki Heidt, Leslie Clawson, Deanna Billings and Stephanie Pickle.  He had many brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.  Services will be held on Saturday, April 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Granger South Stake Center at 4251 S. 4800 W., with a viewing on Friday, March 31 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the same address.
