Donna Kay Watkins

 

She was a delightful little girl who was constantly surrounded by love and laughter. Her sense of humor was unrivaled.

 

Her life really began when she met Matthew Watkins during her senior year in high school. She saw him, decided that the name Donna Watkins sounded pretty good, and the decision was made. Poor Matt never had a chance. She not only fell deeply in love with Matt, but with his whole family. The Watkins family scooped up Donna and she was one of their own. They quickly became MattandDonna. Always together, always a set.

Donna married Matt Watkins on October 19, 2002 in San Diego California. Even though they were occasionally separated by Matt’s deployments, they were blessed to have 5 beautiful children. Mothering came naturally to Donna. She devoted her life to her family and loved them dearly. Every breath she took was for her family. They are forever carried in her heart and soul.

 

MattandDonna moved many times with their children in tow, collecting amazing friends all along the way. Anybody who knows the Watkins, loves the Watkins. MattandDonna were always available to help, chat, laugh, support and befriend.

 

Donna became ill in 2016. We almost lost her several times to blood clots (pulmonary embolisms), seizures and other ailments, but she kept reviving. Her doctors affectionately nicknamed her The Roach, because she lived through many things that are normally not survivable.

 

Matt took excellent care of Donna’s medical and personal needs. He was taking care of the house, the kids, the dogs, the chickens, making a living and taking Donna to every specialist, doctor appointment, surgeon etc. We will always be grateful to Matt for his attentive care of Donna and his children over the past 21+ years. He is truly an amazing man.

 

After years of treatments, experimental surgery and exhausting all medical intervention, Donna accepted that it was time to go. She cherished life but also did not hold on to life too tightly.

 

Donna passed on Friday, January 27 at 4:18 pm at home, snuggled in bed by Matt and her siblings

 

It is with immeasurable grief and sadness that we say goodbye to our Donna Kay.

 

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Michael Paxton, Angela Landsbury, Queen Elizabeth II, Kirstie Alley and two out of the four Beatles.

 

She is survived by her husband, Matthew Watkins. Children Jesse Watkins, Gabriel Watkins, Jacob Watkins, Abigail Watkins and Daniel Watkins. Her sisters Denise Richards, Marisa Clayton and brother, Robert Paxton, parents Jim and Kay Stewart.

 

Special thanks to Lisa and Greg Watkins for their unwavering love, support and care of our sweet girl and her kids. They truly became family. Thanks to all those helped so much in the end, there are so many who helped, but an extra special thanks to her sisters and brother, brothers and sisters in laws (on both sides), Bob and Judy Paxton, Karen and Art Wright, Sara and Wray Dix for their assistance and support.

 

A memorial will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Warehouse 22 1068 West 350 South suite A Syracuse, UT.

 

All who knew and loved her are invited to attend.
