Dolores Luker Anderson - 90, passed away at home September 14, 2025 peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Dolores was born October 18, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William C Luker and Lena V Jones Luker. Dolores grew up in a loving home with sisters Bonnie and LaVerne and a brother William (Bill) C Luker. She graduated from South High and attended Brigham Young University. Mom met her eternal sweetheart Don Lee Anderson in 1955 and they married July 6, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Mom loved music and was an accomplished pianist. She was also an excellent seamstress. She loved to cook and play games. She also loved long drives, especially in her llater years. Above all, Mom loved her family. She was a wonderful mother with a strong testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ and was such a valiant daughter of God with a strong Faith her entire life. She was a wonderful example to her family and all that knew her. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had many callings in her life. Her favorite was being in the Relief Society Presidency and caring for all her ‘sisters’. She loved to serve!
Mom worked at Salt Lake County Post Office, Chuck-a-Rama and Mountainview Elementary until her ll retirement. Mom and Dad served a mission to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1998-1999. Mom is preceded in death by her sweetheart Don, parents William and Lena Luker, sister Bonnie J Curtis and her great grandson Gabriel Ruiz.
She leaves behind her children Joni (Howard) Stucki, South Jordan, UT, Kelly (Kaye) Anderson, Gilbert, AZ, Alan (Mary-Ann) Anderson, Murray, UT, Cris (AJ) Simpson, Pflugerville, TX, and Tracy (Mindy) Anderson, Lehi, UT, sister LaVerne Walton, brother Bill (Janice) Luker and 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to Cortney (grand daughter) for all the love and care she gave both her grandparents in their later years. We would also like to thank her wonderful home health and hospice teams.
A Celebration of Life will be held September 22, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Butler 11th Ward building located at 1845 East 7200 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT. Friends and family are invited to the viewing one hour prior to services.
Interment will follow at 1:00 be at Redwood Memorial Estates located at 6500 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan, UT.
