Dawna Loraine Allen

November 23, 1940 — March 10, 2023

Dawna passed away on March 10, 2023 in her home of a stroke.

Dawna was born on November 23, 1940 to Donald Roy Magera & Shirley Loraine Seddell Magera in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Mom grew up in Magna UT & graduated from Cyprus High in 1959. She met & married Jim Allen on February 19, 1960 & from this marriage they had 4 children. Justene, Jimmy, Suzanne, and John.

Dawna worked at Albertsons in Tooele & then worked and retired from O.C. TANNER.

Moms biggest enjoyment in life were her children & grandchildren. This was evident to us all by the many phone calls asking “where are you?” & “what you doing?” she also found enjoyment in trips to wendover with friends and family, camping, family dinners, birthdays & ANYTHING to do with her family.

Mom was a great cook and had many favorite recipes that we all loved. She was famous for her macaroni shrimp salad, her homemade bread (which we all received for the holidays) our family favorite was her homemade chocolate cake and frosting which included toothpicks to hold the cake together, her rule was if you got a tooth pick you had to do the dishes. Her grandkids always got a kick out of that.

Dawna is survived by her loving children Justene (Doug) Richards, Jim (Suzanna) Allen, Suzanne Zindars, John (Tawnia) Allen. Grammy is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a life long friend Val Herbert whom our family is very grateful for.

Dawna was preceded in death by her parents Don & Shirl & brother Donnie.
