Sharon Johanna Penman Larsen
Our Wife, Mother, Grand Mother, Great Grand Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend slipped peacefully out of this world on September 3, 2019 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah from complications of Stage-Four Lymphoma.
Sharon was born the youngest and only daughter of Johanna Edwards and Franklin Penman with two older brothers, Lewis Penman and Terrence Penman. She graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City in 1964 and attended LDS Business College. She married her sweetheart, Arthur, in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity on December 16, 1965. They immediately started their forever family by welcoming their children Sean (Stephanie, 5), Christian (Michelle, 4), Sharon Mellissa (Nathan Ochsenhirt, 4), Tifani Johanna (Bert Holloway, 3), Clark (Michelle Lee), MaryEllen Hansen (4), Dallin (3), Jill (Ammon Winsor, 5), Nathaniel (Jaime, 9), Denise (Mason Cummins, 2), and Justin (1).
She worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for many years and served as a compassionate service leader and in the Primary. She was always devoted to her family. She traveled across the country several times to help and be with her children. She was always available to be contacted on the phone. She was very easy going and playful. She was often ready to “beat you with a wet noodle” and “throw you in the garbage”. She enjoyed fresh flowers, going to lunch with the girls at the Tiffin Room, and very late get togethers with friends and co-workers.
Sharon has a strong testimony of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Because of that testimony she is an excellent example of a life of service by welcoming unexpected visitors, giving rides to people, and giving food to the less fortunate.
She loved sporting events on tv and watching musicals. She loved to watch her family perform.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Terrance, and grandson, Benjamin.
There is a special place in Heaven for a mother of eleven.
