Schalane Simmons Peterson, cherished wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 25th 2019. She was born on March 5, 1966 to Bob and Sandra Simmons. She married Rodney Peterson in the Salt Lake Temple on December 17th 1986, and together they had four wonderful daughters.
Schalane was known for her outgoing and bubbly personality. She had an effervescent spirit making friends everywhere she went. She spent over twenty years of her life working at elementary schools or teaching preschool, helping children learn. She loved her work, she loved her kids, and her kids loved Mrs. P. She loved to serve and loved to give. She especially loved serving with the youth in her ward and was the life of the neighborhood. She was creative while raising her four girls, coming up with games to do chores, Easter egg hunts for birthday parties, restaurants for her daughter’s dates, and games while on road trips. She loved going to Yellowstone every year with her husband, to try and spot a bear, her favorite animal. She loved and admired her brother, Scott, who was always there for her. She welcomed everyone who came into her life, daughter’s friends, boyfriends, and son-in-laws. She was a listening ear for many and always wanted to help. She loved watching movies and playing games, especially with friends and family. She leaves behind a legacy of service and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Sandra Simmons and we know they were there to welcome her home.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney Peterson; her four girls, Sarah (Aaron) Dupaix, Katelyn (Isaac) Thatcher, Mckenna, and Tayler; and her brother Scott (Nancy) Simmons.
