Amber Winborg Thompson died unexpectedly on September 4, 2019, at her home in Bountiful, Utah.
She was born to Jan and Brad Winborg on a chilly October evening in 1981, with thick dark hair and beautiful eyes. An active and adventurous little girl, she crawled and climbed on everything. From the time she was young she loved wearing boots and sunglasses, fashion choices that continued into adulthood. She was especially close to her cousin Chelsea and her aunt Andrea, both being born within a year of Amber. Grandma Hogge watched the three of them each day and they did everything together, including dance lessons and attending Muir Elementary School. Amber was overjoyed when her brother, Skyler, joined their family in 1988, and they have an exceptionally close bond. She attended Centerville Junior High and Viewmont High School where she had many friends.
Amber met her husband, Mike Thompson, in 2004, and her life changed forever when she became an instant mother to Mike’s three children, Skyler, Riley and Baylee. Amber gave birth to her first child, Mason, in 2005. Their daughter, Lexi, was born in 2010, completing her family. Amber devoted her life to lovingly caring for her husband and children. She was an excellent cook, something she particularly enjoyed doing with Mason. She shared her love of crafting with Lexi and indulged her kids with fun outdoor activities whenever they desired. Her mothering skills extended to everyone, earning her the nickname “Momber.”
Amber is survived by her children Mason and Lexi Thompson; husband Mike Thompson; stepchildren Skyler (Alicia) Thompson, Riley (Mikayla) Thompson, Baylee Thompson; parents Brad and Jan Winborg; brother Skyler (Danja) Winborg; nieces Emery and Autumn Winborg; grandparents Glen and Joan Hogge and Patty Winborg Black and the late Jim Winborg. Amber was absolutely devoted to her grandchildren Ryker and River Thompson.
