Eugene William Jack of North Salt Lake, died on November 3, 2017 in Spanish Fork, Utah due to complications following Parkinson's Disease.
Dad was born on April 1, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert and Pearl Jack.  He had 2 older sisters Phyllis and Carol.   He was raised in various parts of Salt Lake City as well as Woods Cross Utah.  He attended Davis High School and later joined the Carpenters Union.  Through the years he worked on many jobs as a Building Contractor.   In  the early 50's he joined the National Guard.  He went in as the base plumber.  He spent  one year of active duty in Florida and Utah.
He started dating Owenetta Talbot while attending LDS church dances, even though he wasn't a member of the church at the time.    They were married on June 6, 1961 in Las Vegas Nevada.  He was baptized Sept 27, 1961.  They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple Aug 24, 1962.  He was active in the LDS church from there on and held many callings including Sunday School teacher and ward and financial clerk.
They bought a home in North Salt Lake where they lived to almost the end of his life.  They had 3 kids, Vincent born April 9, 1963, Janeal born May 19, 1966, and Theron born June 30, 1969.  He enjoyed his family and had a good time raising them.  They had lots of fun on outings, and camping trips which took them all over the Western United States, as well as a little into Canada and Mexico.  He and the boys enjoyed many fishing trips.  During a building slump in our area when it was hard to find many contracting  jobs, he decided he'd build a fishing boat, which he did and the boys and he used that boat for years.
After retirement from the construction industry, he worked a few years as a maintenance worker in the local church buildings for the LDS church.
When fully retired, he and Owenetta traveled to quite a few places such as Hawaii, Alaska, several countries in Europe, Jerusalem and Egypt, quite a bit of Canada, and all but about 12 of the Continental United States.

In July of  2004, his youngest son, Theron was suddenly found in a comatose state from reasons unknown.  Dad was by Theron's side for a solid 10 years taking care of him day in and day out with little days off except for his own illness or the once a week help from his daughter, Janeal.  Dad would have continued but that is when he showed serious signs of Parkinson's, which made it impossible for him to continue.
We  lost his oldest son,  Vince in November 2014 of pneumonia, which dad took quite hard.  He missed Vince quite a bit.
In March 2014, He and Owenetta move closer to their daughter Janeal due to his health.
Dad enjoyed his family which later included his 5 grandkids.  He was well loved and people enjoyed being around him because of his good nature and humorous personality.  The grandkids  especially got a kick out of the things he would say and do.  He had a very good work ethic and enjoyed staying  busy.  He liked to tinker around in his shed and yard, and the grandkids enjoyed following him around and watch him. His compassion and sacrifice for his son is what his family feels he will be admired for the most.
He is survived by his wife, Owenetta  daughter and son-in-law,  Janeal and Kenny Thurston, son, Theron , his sister Carol Keene, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his son Vincent, and his sister Phyllis Jack.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 10, at the LDS chapel, 3317 S. 800 W. Bountiful, Utah.  Viewing held on the same day starting at 10:00 am.  Services starting at 11:00 am.  Interment will be immediately after at the Bountiful Cemetery, 2224 S. 200 W. Bountiful.
